1. Who We Are

Packd is a travel packing list app for iPhone developed by Michelle Gemmeke, an individual developer based in the Netherlands ("we", "us", or "our"). As a data controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are responsible for the personal data that relates to your use of Packd.

If you have any privacy questions or requests, you can reach us at: getintouch.packd@gmail.com

2. What Data We Collect

Packing list content

The packing lists, items, categories, notes, and other content you create in Packd are stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit technology. This data is tied to your Apple ID and is stored and managed entirely by Apple. We do not have access to, and cannot view, your packing list content.

When you choose to share a list with another person, your iCloud identity (as assigned by Apple) is used to grant that person access. The recipient's iCloud identity is similarly managed by Apple.

Purchase information

Packd offers one-time in-app purchases (additional list unlocks and a lifetime unlock). We use RevenueCat, a third-party service, to validate these purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous App Store transaction identifier to confirm what you have purchased. No name, email address, or payment information is shared with us or with RevenueCat.

Crash and error reports

To keep the App stable, we use Sentry to collect anonymous crash and error reports. When the App encounters a problem, Sentry may send us:

We have configured Sentry conservatively to protect your privacy: it does not attach your name, email address, IP address, device name, or any packing list content to these reports. Crash reports are processed on Sentry's European (Germany) servers.

Usage analytics

We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the App is used in aggregate (for example, how often the paywall is viewed or a purchase is completed). TelemetryDeck:

We use these insights only to improve the App. We never receive your packing list content through analytics.

Feedback and problem reports

When you choose to submit feedback or report a problem through the App, we collect:

This data is sent to a Google Apps Script endpoint and stored in a Google Sheets document managed by us. We use this information solely to understand and address issues with the App. Feedback submissions are never shared with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. What We Do Not Collect

We want to be explicit about what Packd does not collect:

4. How Data Is Used

Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of the Packd app. Specifically:

We do not use your data for marketing, advertising, or profiling. We do not build profiles about you.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third-party processors to provide core functionality:

Apple CloudKit / iCloud
Apple provides the infrastructure for storing and syncing your packing list data. Apple acts as a data processor when processing your data within iCloud. Your data is protected by Apple's security and privacy measures. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

RevenueCat
RevenueCat validates in-app purchases on behalf of Packd. RevenueCat acts as a data processor and is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable data protection laws. They do not sell your data. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. For GDPR-related enquiries with RevenueCat, you can contact compliance@revenuecat.com.

Google (Apps Script / Sheets)
When you submit feedback or report a problem, your submission is processed via Google Apps Script and stored in a Google Sheets document managed by us. Google acts as an infrastructure provider for this data. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Sentry
Sentry collects anonymous crash and error reports so we can fix bugs and keep the App stable. We have disabled the collection of personal data, IP addresses, and device names. Sentry acts as a data processor, offers a GDPR Data Processing Agreement, and processes our data on European (Germany) servers. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

TelemetryDeck
TelemetryDeck provides privacy-friendly, aggregate usage analytics. It identifies devices only through an anonymous, irreversibly hashed value and does not collect personal data or advertising identifiers. TelemetryDeck is a European provider that processes data within the EU in compliance with GDPR. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any advertising networks or social media trackers in Packd. The analytics and crash-reporting tools listed above are configured to avoid collecting data that personally identifies you.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is only shared with the service providers listed in Section 5, and only as necessary to deliver the app's functionality.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or a valid legal process, and to the extent strictly necessary to comply.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, please email us at getintouch.packd@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Because your packing list content is stored in your own iCloud account, the most direct way to access or delete this data is through the app itself (delete lists or items) or by disabling iCloud sync for Packd in your device Settings.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority: Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

8. Children's Privacy

Packd is rated 13+ on the Apple App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Under GDPR, users in the EU must be at least 16 years old to consent to data processing; we do not knowingly provide the app to users under 16 in the EU. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at getintouch.packd@gmail.com so we can take appropriate action.

9. Data Retention

Your packing list content is stored in your iCloud account for as long as you keep it there. You can delete it at any time from within the app or via your iCloud account settings. Packd does not maintain a separate copy.

RevenueCat retains purchase transaction records in accordance with their own retention policy, which is necessary for Apple App Store compliance and for restoring purchases.

Feedback and problem report submissions are retained in our Google Sheets document for as long as needed to address the reported issues. You can request deletion of your feedback data at any time by contacting us.

Anonymous crash reports (Sentry) and usage analytics (TelemetryDeck) are retained according to each provider's standard retention period and contain no information that identifies you personally.

10. Security

Your packing list data is protected by Apple's CloudKit encryption — data is encrypted both in transit and at rest. We take appropriate technical precautions within our own systems and code, though no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide additional notice (for example, via App Store release notes or an in-app message). Your continued use of Packd after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
